All enlightened beings, most founders of religions and many renowned scientists knew and understood the six principles of enlightenment. These universal truths have been written about, taught and discussed for thousands of years yet remain shrouded in mystery and misinterpretation. This book seeks to remove that shroud.

The Six Principles of Enlightenment and Meaning of Life is an intellectual and spiritual work that explains the six significant universal truths woven throughout science, religion and philosophy. These principles draw upon thousands of years of wisdom and are presented in a concise, accessible format. Each principle is defined and has an explanation on its application to life; they are further supported by quotes of wisdom from enlightened beings, philosophers, artists and scientists like Buddha, Albert Einstein, Rumi, Stephen Hawking and Jesus. Understanding the six principles then unlocks the meaning of life which is explained in the final chapter.

Symbolism of the Cover

The cover of The Six Principles of Enlightenment and Meaning of Life is designed to reflect the wisdom of religion and philosophy intertwined with intellect of science. The large symbol of the atom signifies science and more specifically quantum mechanics, which helps to explain and support the Principles of Enlightenment. The atom is also a symbol of Atheism and reflects a balanced and skeptical approach to understanding the Universe and the meaning of life. The atom is wrapped around each of the smaller symbols which represent religion, philosophy and again science as the sources of wisdom that help to explain the principles. The nine pointed star at the top of the atom is the symbol of Bahaism, a religion that recognizes the oneness all religions. The other symbols in clockwise order represent Christianity, Infinity, Judaism, Atom/Science, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. The Six Principles of Enlightenment and Meaning of Life explains who we are and why we are here, incorporating philosophy, religion and science to support these universal truths.

A DEEPER MEANING…

Rumi-Field

The field represent a higher level of thought or understanding. Rumi is explaining that the notions of right and wrong or good and evil are not necessarily enlightened thinking. He wants to lead you beyond these notions to a higher understanding of ethics.

Rumi-Drop-2

The ocean symbolizes God or the Universe. Rumi is revealing that we are not an insignificant part (drop) of God/the Universe but rather all of God/the Universe is contained within us. This is an enormous concept to comprehend.

Buddha-Anger

No one will judge and punish you for your anger or any bad behavior but you will suffer from this behavior. Anger, hate and all negative thoughts punish the person who has them. This should motivate you to be aware of and eliminate these negative thoughts and emotions or be willing to suffer the consequences.

Gibbs-Wisdom

Be aware that wisdom is everywhere and be mindful not to dismiss an important message because of the situation or the messenger.  Everything happening to you is a sign and recognizing these signs requires both courage and an open mind.
